The Connecticut Association of Latinos in Higher Education (CALAHE) is dedicated to promoting and advocating full access, retention and participation of Latinos/Latinas throughout Connecticut higher education.
Council for Opportunity in Education
The Council for Opportunity in Education (COE) is a nonprofit organization, established in 1981, dedicated to furthering the expansion of college opportunities for low-income, first-generation students, and students with disabilities in all 50 states, Washington, D.C., the Pacific Islands, and Puerto Rico. Its membership includes more than 1,000 colleges and agencies. Through its numerous membership services, the Council works in conjunction with colleges, universities, and agencies to help low-income students enter college and graduate. Over a million low-income students and students with disabilities each year receive college access and retention services through our member colleges and agencies.
New England Educational Opportunity Association
The New England Educational Opportunity Association, or NEOA, is an organization of professionals who are actively interested in insuring equal educational opportunities in higher education. Founded in 1976, NEOA has membership of more than 300 educators throughout the six New England states: Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont.
The mission of NEOA is to advocate for access to and success in postsecondary education for low-income individuals, first generation college students, and students with disabilities and to develop the skills and knowledge of educational opportunity professionals working with this population.
TRIO
The Federal TRIO Programs (TRIO) are Federal outreach and student services programs designed to identify and provide services for individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds. TRIO includes eight programs targeted to serve and assist low-income individuals, first-generation college students, and individuals with disabilities to progress through the academic pipeline from middle school to post-baccalaureate programs. TRIO also includes a training program for directors and staff of TRIO projects.
