Promoting Academically Successful Students

Empowering students' academic and personal self-growth

The Promoting Academically Successful Students (PASS) Program is made possible through a grant from the Connecticut Office of Higher Education Minority Advancement Program. PASS supports students by helping them build new academic strategies and develop a growth mindset to achieve success in college and beyond.

The PASS Program includes:

  • Ongoing, weekly support from an Academic Success Advisor
  • A personalized success plan to promote a return to good standing and long-term success at UConn
  • Free tutoring services for a variety of courses
  • Access to workshops and programs designed to support students’ academic, professional, and personal development and wellbeing
  • The opportunity to enroll in a specially designed one-credit course, UNIV 1820: Mindset for Personal Growth
  • An invitation to the annual Growing Resilience and Inspiring Transformation (G.R.I.T.) Retreat

To be eligible for the PASS Program, students must:

  • Identify as a student of color, and
  • Be on academic warning, probation, or subject to dismissal
