CAPS helps Connecticut high school students strengthen their academic skills, explore college and career possibilities, and build the confidence to pursue a college degree.
College access begins with opportunity.
CAPS pre-college programs work with first-generation students, students from limited-income households, and students from communities historically underserved in higher education. Through academic-year support and summer learning experiences, students prepare for high school graduation, college admission, and success after enrollment.
Programs are offered at no cost to eligible students. Each program serves specific schools and has its own eligibility requirements.

ConnCAP
Academic preparation, college planning, personal development, and family engagement for eligible students across Connecticut.

Upward Bound
Year-round academic and college-readiness support for eligible students who are preparing to succeed in higher education.
- Grades 9–12
- Academic-year and six-week summer experience
- Serves designated schools in Connecticut communities
Upward Bound Math & Science
Specialized college preparation for eligible students interested in mathematics, science, technology, engineering, and related careers.

- STEM-focused academic and summer experiences
- Serves New London, Norwich, and Rockville partner schools
