Student Support Services

Student Support Services (SSS) is a federally funded TRIO program that has been serving UConn students since 1970. Students selected to participate in SSS receive the following services:
- Participation in the CAPS Summer Program
- One-on-one holistic advising and counseling throughout tenure at UConn
- Exclusive tutoring
- Peer Mentoring
- SSS First Year Experience courses
- SSS First Year English courses with supplemental instruction
- Priority selection for CAPS study abroad programs
- Unique enrichment opportunities
- Grant aid for eligible participants
Program Eligibility
SSS selection is based on a variety of factors, including:
- First-in-family to go to college (first generation college student) and/or from an underresourced household
- High potential to succeed at UConn and contribute positively to the campus and TRIO community
- Highly recommended by CAPS Counselor
